After a four year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, the Lach Diamant team will be welcoming once again familiar faces, friends and customers from around the world on its stand at EMO.

Even during the disruptions of the supply chains, Lach Diamant has always been ready to deliver. This was mainly possible due to a proactive procurement of diamond materials needed for the manufacturing of PCD/PCBn cutting tools, diamond and CBN grinding wheels and diamond dressing tools. Decades of good purchasing relations with suppliers of the now 100-year-old company guarantee good business relations; an old slogan “diamond purchases are a matter of trust”, was such revived for both sides.

At EMO in Hanover, Lach Diamant can celebrate 100 years of existence after it was founded by Jakob Lach in 1922. Milestones during the company’s existence include the first CBN Borazon grinding wheel in 1969, the first polycrystalline diamond cutting tools in 1973, the first CBN cutting tools in 1975 and the discovery of spark erosion for the production of polycrystalline diamond tools in 1978 and its subsequent registration for patent.

At EMO, the company will present the products based on its discoveries, developments and accumulated know-how. Lach Diamant is a supplier for manufacturers of wind power systems, the aircraft and automobile industry and its suppliers, toolmaking (composite, plastic, graphite) and tool manufacturing industries, electrical and medical industries, and many other industries.

To this day, the manufacturers focus is still on custom made products, and shows the versatility of the company’s product portfolio, originating from its headquarters in Hanau.

Last year the subsidiary in Grand Rapids/Michigan, USA, celebrated its 40th anniversary as independent manufacturer of PCD cutting tools for the American market.
